This is a thai food truck in McMinnville that I stalk. Hahaha! The chicken rama (I have to double check that I am spelling that right) is a peanut chicken and broccoli dish that I think rocks. This is about 15 miles/15 minutes from the house.

Small town vibe; great pizza; five minutes away in the quaint logging town of Willamina. I also consider Willamina to be a town of artists as they host an Art Tour every year and have amazing shops filled with local artists' wares.

Delicious! I love the speciality waffles, including the chicken and waffles. I have a southern friend and even she thinks they rock. Babica Hen is located about 30 miles/30 minutes from the house past McMinnville (headed east).

I am giving away my age with this post, but I am telling you, if you want good simple food at prices at affordable prices (I always feel like I am back in the 90s) and cheap drinks, the American Legion is the place to go. It is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC and not just Veterans. The prime rib on Friday nights is the best prime rib I have ever had. This is located about 15 minutes east from the house.

Surprisingly, the fish and chips are not good at all there, unless they advertise local fresh fish are being used, but the clam chowder is amazing. If you like calamari, it is very good there too.

McMinnville's Third Street downtown area has won several awards. There are too many places on that street to list, but there are incredible places to eat and many places to taste wine. Some great local shops are there too.

If you are looking for a great place to worship Sunday morning, enjoy this quaint small church in Grand Ronde, which is 15 minutes away. Lovely people; beautiful location. Service is at 11 am on Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 am.

As a kid, I was always afraid to go inside the giant witches' head and into the Alice in Wonderland tunnel.
This is an amusement park located right outside of Portland, and is about 1.5 to 2 hours from the house. If your kids are in the mood to go to go on tons of rides all day, this would be a great choice. It is reasonably priced as well.
