This lovely place in Grandcamp is a real treat. It’s good for any group but particularly good value in terms of kids set menu. Food is consistently excellent and service is also very accommodating. You need to book in advance, it’s very popular.

This is about an hours drive from Les Fieffes in Blainville but well worth it to be right by the sea in spring and summer months. It’s essentially a shabby chic sea side shack selling pub like fare but with French style (and the occasional singalong). Choices are basic but good quality (Moules Frites). Only a short drive up from here to Pointe D’Agon or Agon-Coutainville Resort to make part of highly enjoyable day out.

Isigny basic pizza/brasserie. It has a good kids menu and it does the basics very well. It’s reasonably priced and friendly.

One of the few local places open on a Monday evening. Traditional American burger place. Fun decor, food ok. Somehow let down by rather humourless service.

A good alternative to La Trinquette in Grandcamp. Some dishes a little hit and miss so not the consistency of its neighbour - nonetheless it’s a lovely meal out and it has nice aspect overlooking port.

It’s worth a visit to the shop to buy butter and cheese straight from factory. In summer you can join locals buy the creamiest ice cream which doesn’t seem to make it to the shops.

Charming historic cathedral town with lots of nice cafes, bars and restaurants as well as of course the famous tapestry. If you don’t fancy driving there - the train from local station Lison takes 10 minutes.

Famed for its butter and caramels as well as Walt Disney’s ancestry this small town is great for foodies. There is a cinema too. There is a market on Wednesdays. This is the closest town to Les Fieffes.

If you’re interested in the telling of history, this is a must see. The museum brings tapestry to life through great audio guide and there’s a good guide for kids too. Good for a rainy day!

This really surpassed our expectations. The story of the D Day landings is beautifully captured - you can walk into the bomb craters and shelters. Fantastic views too.

Lovely house, gardens and aspect over Granville which is also nice town to explore. The museum is quite small and sensibly they limit numbers to get inside. Get there early if it’s an exhibition you want to see.

Although a bit of a drive, it’s worth doing as day trip to see this spectacular monument if you’ve not been before. It’s all about THAT view!
