Gardens

One of Ireland's outstanding gardens, a Robinsonian garden with some ancient oak forest. Lovely walks through herbaceous borders, round a lake, through an arboretum, down a wild, steep glen to the River Slaney, and back up the 'Hundred Steps' to the garden and impressive plant sales.

Beaches

Village on the Suir estuary with a fort and a long, safe, sandy beach. Nearby is the beautiful beach at Dollar Bay, which is far less frequented, as parking is not easy and there's a climb down to the beach. Also close is the Templars Inn at Templetown, near Fethard-on-Sea, for pub food, including very good sea-food.
