Cool Spots In The Neighborhood
Just a 5 minute bike ride down the coast from my beach bungalow is Crystal Pier. First built in the 1920s this pier is a great spot to walk out over the ocean and watch the surfers catch waves. See my tip about breakfast at Kono's with the secret spot patio for dining.

A little over 1 mile away from my beach bungalow. Named after noted local horticulturalist and “Mother of Balboa Park” Kate Sessions is a 79-acre park, which is perched high on a hill overlooking Mission Bay, the Pacific Ocean and downtown San Diego.

7 minutes away by bicycle you can catch the Bahia Belle on Mission Bay behind the Catamaran Resort. This boat goes back and forth between the Catamaran and the Bahia Resorts. If you're timing is right you'll be able to sail under the stars while SeaWorld set off fireworks! It's a great way to enjoy an evening sailing across the bay. Stay on as long as you like since there's usually live music and a bar on board the ship. You can also get off at the Bahia and just be a short walk away from Belmont Park and everything else at Mission Beach. Checkout boarding times online: https://www.bahiahotel.com/boarding-times

Just around the corner up the hill from my beach bungalow are some great panoramic views of the ocean, bay, downtown, Coronado island (and sometimes you can see all the way to Mexico). Mt Soledad is a National Veterans Memorial. Free to visit.

Just south of my beach bungalow is Pacific Beach. Great for cruising around the boardwalk, people watching, and Garnet Ave. is the main drag with lots of bars and restaurants (it dead-ends into Crystal Pier).

My beach bungalow is located in the southern coastal part of La Jolla. As you travel north through La Jolla there are many sites to see. Downtown La Jolla is very upscale with shops like Cartier and fine dining restaurants overlooking the ocean. There are even places to purchase a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Rolls Royce if the mood strikes (and the wallet allows). There are also great beaches which I will highlight elsewhere in this guide.

My beach bungalow is located in the southern coastal part of La Jolla. As you travel north through La Jolla there are many sites to see. Downtown La Jolla is very upscale with shops like Cartier and fine dining restaurants overlooking the ocean. There are even places to purchase a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Rolls Royce if the mood strikes (and the wallet allows). There are also great beaches which I will highlight elsewhere in this guide.
