Just 2 miles behind the house overAngora Ridge, this gem of a Lake is another must see when in South Tahoe. When there, be sure to visit Glen Alpine Falls as well. The roads are narrow and can be a little rough, so drive carefully. Closed in the winter.

The two small Lakes are just behind the house over the Angora Ridge. Parking is limited so go early to get a spot. A short walk up, you will pass the first lake, and then get to the second lake, cute snack bar with world famous lemonade! Very quiet, serene hidden nook in South Lake Tahoe.

This spot is about 40 minutes from the house, past Kirkwood, but such a special place. Only 1/4 mile walk from the road where you park, the water has created many potholes in the huge boulders where you can dip, or swim or enjoy the mountain views.

Great for all ages, close to the house, the visitor center and surrounding areais beautiful. During the fall season the salmon come to Spawn and you can watch the bears feeding. Such a wonderful local spot

The reason this is a favorite beach is that it is lined with pine trees, so you have the shade of the trees and the fresh Tahoe forest experience, but also the beautiful, amazing Lake Tahoe, great for swimming, renting Kayaks or paddle boards, picnics, and the perfect place to spend the day on the lake.

Float down the Truckee River, stop at the various beaches along the river, enjoy time with friends or family, bring snacks and drinks and plenty of sunscreen, then end your trip at the River Ranch Lodge restaurant and grab some grub and drinks on the River Deck. Best Day Ever! The lazy river is great for young and old alike!

This sweet fishing pond is walking distance from the house, though you can drive too. It is a pond specifically for kids and their families to fish in, so it is well stocked with fish. Many of our guests say that fishing at Sawmill Pond with their kids was the highlight of their trip!

This small lake also has a fun playground for kids and there is a hidden river beach access point beyond the meadow. A really sweet place to go with kids, play on the playground then swim in the river and enjoy the quiet river beach. The lake is nice too.
