I highly urge you to use Uber or Careem as public transportation is limited and inadequate. It’s a cheap and convenient way of going around the city.

You’ll hear a lot of advice about what to wear and what to say, but in my opinion it’s best to do you. Although the city is relatively safe, exercise normal caution and be cautious of anyone who approaches you.

Alcohol is excessively expensive here. We normally pregame indoors before going out.

Most houses aren’t well insulated and heating is extra expensive. We tend to wear extra layers indoors. Winters can be frigid here so pack accordingly.
