Conseils aux voyageurs

Se déplacer dans les environs

Transport

All of the city is within 10-15 minutes walk from the flat. Parking is free for blue badge holders. If you’re in Perth for a special occasion, there are plenty taxis available outside the train station or the Tesco Metro in South Street. Taxi numbers are provided in the Guest Information folder. Buses go to all Scottish cities from the bus station. There are plenty of cycle paths and mountain biking on Deuchny hill. River ferries operate on the Tay (and to Broughty Ferry) in the summer.
À ne pas manquer

Things to see and do

The farmers’ market is on the first Saturday of every month and is well worth a walk through. Kinnoull hill has fine walks, runs and mountain bike trails (and skills area). The theatre has frequent plays and music of high quality, as does the concert hall. Further afield, there are some wonderful outdoor spaces such as Macrosty Park and Lady Mary’s walk in Crieff and Drummond castle gardens near Muthill.

Manières d'économiser

Saving money

Museum entry is free. Choose cheaper long term parking at the South Inch if you’re staying for a while. Aldi and Lidl supermarkets on Glasgow Road will save you a lot compared to Tesco.
Phrases utiles

For any situation

Are ye havin a laff? (Pronounced AR-YE-HAVIN-A-LAFF). This can be used in almost any situation, whether you do not understand, do not agree or would just like a better offer or time to think. When in Dundee, “An ingin ane ‘n’ a’” will invariably prove useful. Say it as AN-ING-IN-AIN-AN-AW and you will be provided with an onion containing version of the delicacy. Not to be used when ordering macarons.
