A great local coffeeshop located steps from our building entrance! It’s a Harlem favorite w a great selection of coffee, teas and my favorite oat milk hot chocolate (w a croissant!). The owner is Karina and works the coffee bar so say hello when you’re there.

All vegan / vegetarian dishes yummy and affordable! Lots of NYU students hang out here so usually a small wait for tables. Leave room for the tasty vegan desserts.

Live Music outdoors on Sunday afternoons. Melba is there usually so be sure to say hi and on music nights or brunch it’s a great place to be.

One of my favorite, lovely and fancy feeling tho unpretentious rooftop spots. Kid friendly and great for an afternoon break if you’re downtown and want an escape from the City noise.
It’s not a beer garden to me at all — just a cool rooftop cafe w good eats and reasonable by the bottle service.

The BEST happy hour in Harlem (and probably NYC!) friendly bar staff and the food menu for happy hour is so tasty. A good place to meet locals and mingle by the bar.

Great French bistro / brunch spot. Highly recommend it go early and enjoy it. Harlem’s loveliest little secret under the train tracks at La Marqueta.

Wonderful spot right by the apartment for a lazy morning coffee and really great breakfast plates. Common Good is my fave go to on the run tho for a longer visit Lucille’s has bigger plates and larger space.
They also stay open for dinner and have live music check online for schedule.

One of my favorite late night spots downtown in the Meatpacking District convenient to the A train back home. Alway interesting DJs and good unpretentious crowd there to dance and have a great time.

Open late night and I think it’s now back to 24hrs on weekend — a very NYC grown up “cool kids” scene and you never know who you’ll see there. I go for the appetizers and a glass of wine. Great cocktails too. The Mushroom Toast is delicious!

A great spot for late night Jazz for the Dizzys Afterhours sessions starting at 11p+ for only $10-15 depending on the night. A beautiful space overlooking Central Park and so many wonderful musicans play there all week.

A beautiful intimate music venue a few short blocks from Columbus Circle — always top performers great for an evening out / date. There’s usually a ticketed price and $25pp spend at tables. Worth it tho for a classic jazzy night is Broadway singers performing there.
