The kombucha is SO GOOD. If you like Kombucha, or just need a break from the hard beverages constantly peddled in this area, stop by and fill your growler!

A nice, very pleasant restaurant with an extensive, modern menu in a very open, modern space. The outside doesn’t quite match the inside, so prepared to be a little surprised! Great service. Perhaps the most big city of Waynesboro food options.

This is such a comfortable, friendly restaurant— steak, crab cakes, burgers, and excellent bloody Mary’s. My favorite brunch spot!

Abandoned Italiante mansion on the mountaintop that is the local favorite photo shoot spot. Build by Virginia Millionaire James Dooley in 1913, it’s also the former home of famous New Age cult leaders Lao and Walter Russell (Google them!!) Decaying formal gardens, a Rapunzelesque tower, and an incredible collection of mature conifers. The mansion is often open for tours on weekends in warmer months, and the owners post road signs near the mansion when that’s happening. They also host a Halloween event that looks intriguing, but we haven’t been to!

A new museum on Main Street about the eccentric Russells who had a new-age health cult in the Swannanoa mansion in the early 20th Century. I don’t think they use the word “cult” in the museum…
