So it's not the MET, or the Louvre, but it's worth it. It has murals by Diego Rivera,Van Gogh, and some other masterpieces that give an amazing context to past and future artistic experiences.

If that's your first time in Detroit, take the People Mover. It's a kind of self driving overground subway, that rides in circles over the Downtown. You can see a lot of the city this way. It's not going to replace and actual walk, but would sure give you some ideas.
