This is a great - drive is about 12 min. from Julian, a must hike that is about a 2.5 hour hike round trip. When you get to the top, there are views 360 degrees overlooking the Salton Sea in the east. Snowy mountains to the north, The Ocean and others to the West. After the hike down, don't forget to stop by the Nickel Beer Brewery for an Ice Cold Jalapeno Beer or other favorite.

When you get to the top, there are views 360 degrees overlooking the Salton Sea in the east. Snowy mountains to the north, The Ocean and others to the West. After the hike down, don't forget to stop by the Nickel Beer Brewery for an Ice Cold Jalapeno Beer or other favorite.
This is highly recommended. Takes about 20 minutes to drive to the trailhead. Park across the way for $6.00 for all day. The view is awesome - 360 degrees. Round trip - 1.5 hour approx.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Great for lunch and dinner, food and atmosphere is excellent, we have eaten there many times throughout the years and know the owners.

Highly recommend this restaurant. Great for lunch and dinner, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy. The bar is a classic where you could dine there also if chosen. Just walking distance from our home.

Town of Julian - walk from Porter Lane to town is 1 minute
Winter months - bring beanie, gloves, boots, coat, and warm layers as the 30's /40's over night, and highs in the 50's & 60's in the day. Night time walks are a must into town. Even if all the shops are closed down for the evening.
Summer months - Summer clothes - Highs in the 80's & 90's - Lows in the 60's and 70's (Julian is a bit over 4,000 ft, so you do get a variety of mountain conditions)
