They have awesome brisket and fried chicken. I don't eat pork but I hear it's real deal. The family moved from the South and opened this restaurant. Really nice people. Serving drinks now too. Also really close our house, probably about half a mile away but easier to drive here.

This one is more in the downtown area but I love their fresh-tasting food. The food is locally sourced and the restaurant is run by young people from the community. Really sweet place.

There are at least a couple dozen Khmer restaurants in Lowell and they are all honestly delicious. But my recommendations is on Heng Lay. It's a small place and I can't say that decor is amazing but food is awesome. Just awesome.

If you have never had "snow" or "pang-dang" before you should try. It's a pure Asian snack shop that sells shaved ice with million topping, bubble tea, and this thing called "Snow," which is like shaved sherbet in rainbow of flavors including really interesting (and delicious!) one like Taro. Pandang is a bubbly-looking waffle with delicious topping. It's a really fun place perfect for both families and couples, as well as groups.

I am Japanese but not a sushi junkie (most of us are not!). That said, I can recommend Nobo for those who love Sushi. A good variety of sushi and Japanese table dishes, but I did enjoy the way they prepare their sushi.

It's still less than 10 minutes drive from the apartment and your curiosity is sure to be triggered. This place combines arcade with Asian snack place. Try sandwiches, seriously.

It's literally next to the apartment and there is a big hill which is great for exercise and just walking around. Open from dusk to dawn and very safe.
