I'm big on coffee. Vancouver has a brilliant cafe scene emerging, much like Seattle or Victoria.
A couple personal faves:
Milano's on W8th Ave - What an epic location - the view is incredible. And make sure to try the Butter or Cognac espresso, and take some home with you. Like heaven in your mouth and everyone is singing - Hallaleuia!
JJ Bean at Main & 14th - amazing venue, high ceilings
Matchsticks - around the corner from our place. Shiek and they have great coffee!
Paper Crane coffee - right across the street and over half a block. Quaint little coffee shop with good music and people are typically studying.

This is one of the best pizzeria's in the city, and its right downstairs! So many hot options to choose from. And they have the best anchovy pizza I've ever had!!

This casual Italian dining experience is amazing! Neapolitan-style pizzas are made using its 900-degree oven. It feels just like an old school Italian pizzeria.
Chef Jesse knows whats up when it comes to food, they use very high quality ingredients.

Also around the park, enjoy bike riding, pitch & putt, tennis, lawn bowling, roller hockey, basketball, disc golf, walks, picnics.

Beautiful and serene well-maintained traditional Japanese style garden. If you time it, you can even witness a traditional tea ceremony. Located at the far end of Vancouver West Side near UBC, its a good 30 minute drive, but well worth the trip if you are in aspiring greenthumb!
