Sightseeing

The Ironbridge is 1.2 miles from the Pheasant and is easily accessible from the accommodation. Walking is not for the faint hearted in this area as it is a Gorge everywhere is uphill. The Warfage is a beautiful street with lots of bespoke shops and nooks to investigate. Stunning in the summer, it is just as romantic on a winters day, dropping into the local pubs of which there are 7, with the fires roaring and the brisk weather left outside. We are spoilt here for good restaurants and great pub bistro pub food.

If you are a walker, this is THE place to visit. Our local hill which entices tourists all year round. 5 miles from the Pheasant, tourist carparking is a plenty and the area is set with trails galore. From visiting the peak, to finding the needles eye to venturing off route, admiring the views from the quarry and on a good day you can see the Stretton Hills. I would advise take a picnic and enjoy the top of the Wrekin with a bottle something fun.

This is my favourite place to go. 12 miles from the Pheasant approximately, I drive here most weekends to run the dogs. See the free farmed sheep who will grab your food if they can, and the beautiful wild ponies of which there are about 20 at the time of writing this, each year we have a few more. I drive up to the top of the Stretton Hills and walk across the top, hill to hill. Views are magnificent, freedom is breath-taking, let your cares drift away as the wind will blow your socks off up here normally. Weather changes quickly up here so take 4 seasons attire if you're spending the day. If you fancy less of a brisk walk start at the bottom in the valley where the national trust have a café and enjoy the scenery. Perfect for dogs but keep them on the long lead as even the best behaved dogs get over excited here.

This is clearly an old pic however the view is still the same. On the door step of the Pheasant Broseley is a lovely village with community gardens and shops, restaurants and cafes, green grocers, butchers and pubs. A traditional village and a little gem to pop out to and have a mooch.

Another beautiful village. The Much Wenlock Priory is here if you like old ruins. The church is well worth popping into to view the interior. The pubs are lovely and cafes are old school. No Costas or starbucks here I am afraid all locals trading in a small stunning village.

Very much like Ironbridge. Lots to see here from the Cliff Railway to the pubs, bars and restaurants. Like Ironbridge it is lively at night and has many a shop to intrigue, including antiques centre and roman ruins.

This is a great museum for children and adults. This is all part of the Ironbridge Museum site and at this particular venue you can grab a wine, coffee and a light Bite. The café here is fabulous and has recently opened 2019. With the Museum of Iron over the road, Rosehill House a short walk and Loamhole dingle on the doorstep -(stunning woodland walk), there is plenty here for a jam packed 4 - 6 hours.
