The closest Beach to Secret Creek Studio, just across Marine Drive, access is on Peninsula. Yoga, beach glass hunting, beach fires, swimming and snokelling in the summer, a great paddle board and kayak launch. This is just a great spot. Check the tides before you go since at high tide there is only a sliver of beach.

Beautiful sheltered beach near to Secret Creek Studio. Great access into the Lighthouse loop of the Wild Pacific Trail at the far end of the beach. This is my favorite running loop from Secret Creek: Terrace beach around the lighthouse loop then return along Peninsula Road or back along Terrace Beach.

Terrace Beach

This is the local surf Beach for Ucluelet. Also an amazing place to walk. Visit the Parks Canada interpretive centre (indoors) or walk the beach for a little ways or for hours in the dunes!
The waves here can be world class, or can be a little all over the place depending on conditions. Your local surf shop will and the local radio, as well as online platforms like surfline and magicseaweed will give you the details. For new surfers I highly recomend a lesson along with your surf rental. It is worth it to have the local swell knowledge and you will have more fun in the short term, and learn faster in the long run!

Great beach walking distance from Secret Creek Studio. Look for beach glass, check out tidal pools or have a little fire. Head into the Blackrock for drinks, lunch or dinner afterwards.

This catches the most of the smaller summer swell... and it is a gorgeous place to hang out. There are several surf rentals and restaurants on the beach here, and is a great all day hang out.

Trails
The wildpacific trail is some of the best photography and storm watching on the west coast of Vancouver Island, hands down. This is a world class trail.
The lighthouse loop is great because you can do half of it, or the whole thing at 2 ish km total. If you want to park and spectate, or walk the loop, this is a great option.

hot springs
Hot Springs waterfall into natural rock basins leading into the ocean... it is really too good to be true. The trip there is worth it on its own with whale and wildlife watching, then it is 2km on a gorgeous well maintained boardwalk to the hot springs. boat or fly there. there is a little campground and a boat b and b out there which are recommendable. unforgettable.

The trip there is worth it on its own with whale and wildlife watching, then it is 2km on a gorgeous well maintained boardwalk to the hot springs. boat or fly there. there is a little campground and a boat b and b out there which are recommendable. unforgettable.
