Grab some take-out and have a picnic at Hardy Park! Beautiful boardwalk along the St. Lawrence. Picnic tables, beach volleyball and bathroom facilities. If you're lucky, you'll be there during the famous Ribfest! (Much fewer lines than bigger cities, especially if you visit slightly off peal dining hours).
