For hiking: Take the metro number 1 to the end stop Frognerseteren, and you are in the middle of the forest. Follow signs to Ullvålseter/Sognsvann (about 10 kilometeres), stop at Ullvålseter for a coffe/cake, and take the metro back from Sognsvann. Or just go for a walk in the area.

The Oslofjord has many small islands where locals visit for picnics and swimming. You can also just sit on the boat and enjoy the view. The boats are part of the public transport system, and your bus/metro ticket is also valuable for the boats. Boats leave from Aker brygge/Rådhuskaia.

Take the metro from our house to the skijump Holmenkollen. Inside there is a Ski museum. There is also a skijump simulator - very exiting!
