My absolute favourite restaurant and bar. It used to be a seedy hole in the wall but the owners of Whalesbone (another incredible restaurant you should check out) flipped it into one of the most chill restaurants in the city. Fantastic food, great drinks, and best of all: the oysters are the best in the city.

Elmdale Oyster House & Tavern
1084 Wellington St. WMy absolute favourite restaurant and bar. The best pizza in the entire city, by far. True Neapolitan-style pizza, voted as one of the best pizzas in ALL OF CANADA by the Food Network! The place isn’t the most romantic though, so I recommend grabbing a margarita to go and eating it at the apartment with a great movie.

Anthony's

This shack has legit quality tacos (although if you’re new to Ottawa and have time to leave Hintonburg, El Camino tacos on Elgin Street will change your life forever. Truly the best tacos in the world, and I’ve done a LOT of travelling).

This farmer’s market goes down an entire city block in the summer/fall and sells fresh vegetables and beautiful flowers. It’s only two blocks from my apartment on Parkdale!

This is my favourite grocery store in the area. It only really has fresh foods and some fantastic frozen, but not toiletries or anything like that. Just really good food.

Dark and twisty, this bar is unique and definitely worth the pricey cocktails. Very trendy inside, and if you want to be outdoors they have a great patio space too.

Global Pet Foods is a local and female-owned chain. The owner happens to be a wonderful supporter of the community, so I make a point of getting all my pet supplies from this chain. Plus, it’s close to the apartment!
