The hike is relatively short and flat, starting as you walk by enormous cedar and fir trees, alternating between forested and open space, and ending beside a colony of gigantic arbutus trees, and a small lighthouse. A must visit for lovers of short walks with scenic views.

Smuggler Cove Marine Provincial Park
One of the most unique places in the whole world. At high tide, waves from the bay and the sea clash in the narrows, creating scenic whirlpools that are truly natural wonders. Make sure to look at the tide calendar on their website to arrive at the high tide. The Park is about an hour drive from the cabin, and there is a one hour scenic and flat walk from the parking lot to the Narrows.

Cute cafe only 10min drive away in Madeira Park. They have tasty pastries and we absolutely looooove their egg sandwiches. The cafe has outdoor seating and also a piano for the musically minded.

You can't miss this one. It's on your way to the cabin. Make sure to stop by for a stroll by the beach and snap some photos. During summer, you can jump off the pier and swim back to the beach. Also, across from the Bay, there are couple of great local restaurants to check out.
