Se déplacer dans les environs

Bikes are a pretty great way of getting around.

Byron is pretty bike friendly when it comes to tracks and getting around however be sure to always lock up your bike as they are also the first thing to go missing. Some Hostels and Hotels will offer their own bike rental service otherwise there are many bike rental places around starting from about $20 for the day. Parking can be pricey and hard to come by so leave the car at home.

Sunrise at the Lighthouse

Depending on the time of year parking might be a little tricky however combine it with the walk from town and enjoy the sunrise from the easterly most point of Australia. Best to google sunrise times and give yourself ample time to get up there.

Whale Migration

A perk to coming to Byron in the cooler months (June - November), are the Southern Hemisphere Humpback whales. Migrating from their summer feeding grounds of the Antarctic to their northern breeding grounds in the tropics. Best spots to see them is the Captain Cook or Cape Byron lookouts. Do it all in one go - walk your way up to the Lighthouse for sunrise and keep your eye out for any dolphins or whales on your way back down stopping for breakfast at Raes on Wategos Beach.
Que faut-il apporter ?

What to bring if you want to do it all.

Swim suit and a snorkel, if you have a rash vest for the summer months that's a bonus as the sun is pretty strong and great if you plan on surfing/learning to surf. Slip on shoes/flip flops. Don't leave your Birkenstocks unattended at the beach, they will disappear. Good sturdy shoes for any hikes or walking tracks. SUNSCREEN, hat and sun glasses. Mosquito repellant or bug spray. Dry bag for your water adventures. Waterproof cover for your phone/gopro/camera for those underwater shots. Reusable water bottle. Let's not do the plastic thing, yeah!
