What a TRIP. If you're looking for a nice drive in the desert to see one of the world's largest rocks, check out Giant Rock. History states that an old man in the early 20th century used to live under the rock. You can actually see where he used to live. How cool!

One of my FAVORITE destinations. From the cabin you'll be about one-hour away, but if you have the time and you want to literally stand inside an inactive volcano then you HAVE to go. On your way, make sure you check out the salt flats. So amazing. Plan on going in the early morning as temps will make it unbearable if you leave anytime past 8am. Best times to go Oct-April.

One of my FAVORITE destinations. From the cabin you'll be about one-hour away, but if you have the time and you want to literally stand inside an inactive volcano then you HAVE to go. On your way, make sure you check out the salt flats. So amazing. Plan on going in the early morning as temps will make it unbearable if you leave anytime past 8am. Best times to go Oct-April.
We are HUGE fans of secluded parks and Cleghorn Lakes fits the bill. Sometimes JTNP gets too busy, so we find this a wonderful retreat near Wonder Valley where hikers can see wildlife and if you're lucky a Cleghorn Ram! A real ram!

This is a fantastic two hour hike to one of the most serene hikes near your home. At the end of the trail you'll find yourself in a little oasis surrounded by palms and native plants. Throughout the year, water accumulates at the oasis and is a prime spot to see local wildlife.

Amazing food and amazing service. Located near the west entrance of JTNP you won't be disappointed with the Saloon. Make sure you try their fried pickles, YUM!

If you're up for a drive and something quintessential Joshua Tree make sure you check out Pappy & Harriet's. Lots of good food and if you're lucky you can check out a great band and even see some famous folks! Everyone is welcomed here.

We just love this place for good thai in the desert. It's about a 20 minute drive from the cabin and situated in downtown Twentynine Palms. A must try dish is the Shrimp of the Desert. OMG.... Amazing!! Great staff.

Hidden on the outskirts of Twentynine Palms is the fabulous little retreat. They have a great poolside restaurant. If you're looking to enjoy a quiet and relaxing dinner or lunch check this place out.

JTCC is a fabulous local coffee roaster. We enjoy their simple mild blend coffee, but for a pick me up I choose their yummy iced brewed coffee.

Wonderful little bar and restaurant located on hwy 62. Great indoor and outdoor vibe with weekend events ranging from live music to comedy nights. Would highly recommend this new spot in the desert!

Seriously the best little bakery in the region. People are lined up every morning to try some of their handmade pastries. I highly recommend heading over for a morning snack and a cup of coffee. Very tasty!
