The well is a 10-15 minute walk from the cottage, turn left onto the main road and then right at the derelict mill, follow the track to a pond and walk up the hill from the pond to find the Well. The Well is an ancient spring whose name dates from the medieval period. Fabled to cure rheumatism and skin diseases, take a dip if you dare. The woods around the Well are beautiful for a walk and there are often rope swings and dens to play in.

Walk along the lane for a few hundred metres before taking the footpath on the right next to the sheep shed. Follow the track up hill and turn left opposite a stile into a field for a circular walk around the fort. The Fort is thought to have been built by Celts and dates back to 1600 BC. It is reputed to be the place where the Celtic Dobunni tribe staged its last battle against the Romans after a long running guerrilla war.
