No trip to Montauk is complete without visiting the lighthouse. Climbing to the top is not for everyone. The museum is very interesting. The views are incredible. You can walk around the lighthouse on the jetty in front too

If you want to day trip and see other towns nearby , sag harbor is an old whaling village. Great village to walk, shop, have lunch. It’s about a 40 minute drive from Montauk.
