This stunning walled market town has a lot to offer. Climb to the top of one of Conwy Castle's eight towers to get a stunning view over Conwy and the surrounding area (the castle also looks great illuminated at night). Step inside Britain’s smallest house which is located on the picturesque quayside. Watch your chips when the seagulls are about! Walk the walls of the town or pop into the 16th century Plas Mawr town house (said to be the finest standing houses of it’s Elizabethan era). Further out is Bodnant Garden, one of Wales’ best gardens. Also worth a visit is Conwy Mountain, RSPB nature reserve and The Royal Cambrian Academy of Art.

Chester was founded as a Roman fortress in the 1st century A.D. It's known for its extensive Roman walls made of local red sandstone. In the old city, the Rows is a shopping district distinguished by 2-level covered arcades and Tudor-style half-timber buildings. Walk up and under the Eastgate clock tower for a view over the street. A Roman amphitheatre, lies just outside the old city's walls, near the park. You can even have a full clad Roman soldier as a tour guide. Walk down to the river, soak up the atmosphere and grab a pedalo or rowing boat if feeling adventurous. Cheshire ice cream is essential on sunny days! The Cathedral is very impressive with high vaulted gothic interior and stunning stained glass. There are many great restaurants, cafes and bars and the award winning Chester Zoo is also a must see for families. Very varied and well cared for animals and immersive attractions.

Walk a section of the historical Offa's Dyke path which is right by our property! Enjoy the stunning Welsh scenery and get a well earned dinner and drink at the pub after! Offa’s Dyke Path is a 177 mile (285 Km) long walking trail. It is named after, and often follows, the spectacular Dyke King Offa ordered to be constructed in the 8th century, probably to divide his Kingdom of Mercia from rival kingdoms in what is now Wales The Trail, which was opened in the summer of 1971, links Sedbury Cliffs near Chepstow on the banks of the Severn estuary with the coastal town of Prestatyn on the shores of the Irish sea. It passes through no less than eight different counties and crosses the border between England and Wales over 20 times!

Nestled in the hillside, Dyserth Waterfall is a lovely nearby spot. A trail leads over & behind this waterfall, surrounded by a picnic area, seasonal cafe & restrooms. The River Ffyddion, a tributary of the River Clwyd, falls down a 70-foot ledge creating the waterfall. A five minute drive from our barn or enjoyable short walk, then pop over the road to the New Inn for refreshments!
