Pretty close and accessible from Llandaff Cathedral. If you head south on the taff trail, it's a lovely 45-50 minute walk into the city centre through Bute Park, along the river and coming out at Cardiff Castle and the Millennium Stadium. Bike and foot friendly. This is where I go running! If it's a nice day and you fancy some fresh air you could always walk into the city centre then catch a cab or bus back later?

This is a massive Tesco so sells absolutely everything but can take time to get around. Petrol station and chemist on-site. Or why not pre-order groceries and do a click and collect here or arrange delivery at the start of your stay?

Small and easy to get around but has everything you need for a weekend. Chemist, cashpoint, greengrocers and a decent chippy at the same spot.

Drinks & Nightlife
My favourite pub in the local village. Fairly up-market and nice decor but comfortable and relaxing. My fave wine here is the Malbec and they do a great pint of Peroni. Decent bar menu too. The ribeye steak is good!

This is a Brains pub. Cheaper than the Malsters opposite and they do a better pint of beers and ales on tap. Lively atmosphere.

It's a very old pub in the village and most punters are tradesmen so I rarely go here, however it is a good pub for the rugby and has a very nice little beer garden which is a real sun trap in fine weather.

Summer Palace Restaurant
2-4 High StTasty, traditional Chinese restaurant.
Decent Indian restaurant although the service is a bit hit and miss! My favourite dish is the sizzling chicken.

K2 Coffee House
23 High StGood selection of breakfast, lunch dishes and cakes. Always busy.
My favourite tea shoppe locally which also serves excellent coffee. Very quaint and delicious cakes. Staff are great.

Good to drive to for brunch if you're on the way somewhere. Nice brekkies, excellent salads and good coffee. Very fresh ingredients and always seating available. Sensibly priced.

The Italian delicatessen is to die for! All the deli goods are cooked on site and they do home cooked individual portions of lasagne, meatballs, cannelloni etc which are absolutely delicious. Ideal if you can't be bothered cooking but want something homemade. Great coffee as well and ciabatta sold on site.

Porro Llandaff

The place is pretty new. They do a gorgeous breakfast and you get one free refill with your coffee. Lots of bacon-inspired dishes on the menu basically. It's modern but very relaxed. Really nice locally sourced evening meals as well.
