An easy to moderate 1.1 mile-round trip hike with an elevation gain of 200 feet. *Caution: Although this is a relatively easy trail, several stream crossings (rock hopping) may pose a challenge for some, and the streams may be impassable during high water. Trail follows a brook up stream and crosses (rock hops) the brook three times before you come to the falls. Angel Falls has a 90-foot “hanging” plunge and is comparable in height with Moxie Falls in Forks Township. In high water, the cascading water creates the shape of an angel’s wing giving the falls its name.

The Travel Channel recently noted Small Falls as one of the top secret swimming holes in the world. This is definitely a must if in the area. It is a gorgeous hike and is an easy hike for families. The trail goes up to various levels of the falls and is a great area for photos. Will take Hwy 16 to Rangeley (about 30 miles), then South on Hwy 4. There is no sign off Hwy 4....so watch your mileage. About 12 miles south of Rangely. You can see the picnic area from Hwy 4. Trail is at the back of the picnic area.
