As darkness falls, the square transforms into a thriving nightlife destination. Other signature landmarks are also situated on the square including the Martini Tower, and the Town Hall.

"De Uurwerker" is a bar and café combo that opened recently to cater to the tastes of young professionals and students. They serve food and drinks for reasonable prices (including great pizza!) as well as having various areas, including bar sections, and relaxed sofas.

The Groninger Museum is directly opposite the station. Walk across the footbridge past the museum for the most direct route to the city center
