A major draw for the Northern and Central Kentucky region. It is a life-size Noah's ark with statues of animals and Christian-themed message and imagery. They also have some live animals and a petting zoo as well. It is pretty neat, but I wouldn't plan on spending more than one day there.

Food scene

The food scene in Dry Ridge is still developing, but I've included the non-food chains that I really like. Of course there is Starbucks, McDonalds, Cracker Barrel, and that sort, but you will see the signs for those as you enter town. These places are where the locals go.
The restaurant has a unique story, including an artist and a chef who grew up nearby, then went away to sew their wild oats, only to return and open up a really darn good restaurant. It is a bit of a drive to Warsaw, but when combined with the next location for drinks afterward, totally worth it.

If you make the trip to Jewell's you should stop in here just to take in the waterfront views of the Ohio River. They sell some Cruzan rum drinks that come in a bucket—but don’t have too many! It’s pretty much on an island and surrounded by water. I would bet it has the best views of the river around. The food is typical ho-hum bar food, but the jumbo shrimp I had the last time I was there was quite good.

The heading says it’s a bar, but it is family friendly. Pool, darts, live music, good food, a great atmosphere. It’s more like a place you’d find in downtown Nashville than Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and for that I highly recommend giving it a try. It is less than a mile from the Oasis.

This is a mom and pop dairy dip type of place on Hwy 25 just a bit north of Dry Ridge. Snow Creams are a unique combo of ice cream and snow cone and definitely worth a shot. I hear the banana split is their best seller though.

Combination Butcher Shop/Steakhouse/Greasy Spoon all wrapped into one. I actually never dined in, but the meat is top notch, so I'd recommend whether you are grilling out yourself, or just hungry for a good home cooked meal, to check this place out. Its about 15 min from Dry Ridge, and the Whippy Dip is on your way back, so why not make it a double-stop?

Ok, this place IS all the way in Cincinnati, but there is a good reason why I included it. If you try the Opera Cream cake, and it isn't the best chocolate cake you've ever eaten, I'll refund the cost of the cake! Honestly! They have other kinds of cakes, cupcakes, pastries, etc. and they are phenomenal. I prefer pie, but these are life-changing type of good cakes. We make the drive any time we have a birthday to get one of their cakes because if its worth doing, its worth doing right!

Sightseeing

These mainly outdoor attractions are for those who love getting the most out of their trip to the area.
Yeah, you read that correctly. Just a picture with the sign for your FB page is enough to make this trip a hoot, but seriously, they have hiking trails, swimming pool, an amazing bison viewing area and a mini museum about the area/local animals. Home of the Salt Festival in the fall where you can learn about pioneer lifeways and frontier skills.

The story is that some former Navy Seals were hired to pull a sunken ship from the bottom of the Ohio and would be paid for their expedition. After pulling it from the depths (how?) the benefactor balked at the last minute so the Seals just shoved the wreck up nearby Taylor Creek. There it has sat ever since, rusting away. The "Ghost Ship" can only be reached by water in a kayak or canoe. I've heard not to try driving there, as the nearby land owners don't take kindly to tourists! Not for the faint of heart, but would definitely be worth it. If you are interested in finding it, it can be Googled, or let me know and I can give you a couple options to get there.

William Arnold, from whom Williamstown gets its name, was a Revolutionary War Veteran who settled in the area in the 18th century and gave land to make Williamstown the county seat of Grant County, KY. This period-correct log cabin is where he lived and is preserved with historical artifacts. A group of local volunteers run it and are very knowledgeable and friendly!

If you want to make a day of it, Cincinnati has a ton of different ways to have fun. To highlight just a few: -Findlay Market--indoor/outdoor farmer’s market where you can buy anything from organic mushrooms to farm-raised meats. Restaurants, shops, and local artisans. -Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden--currently you must make a reservation in advance to go to the zoo to limit the number of guests coming at one time. -Cincinnati Museum Center--Actually several different museums in the same area, including Natural History, Children’s Museum, Science Museum, and more. -National Underground Railroad Freedom Center--Learn about Cincinnati's location as an Underground Railroad Station and other antebellum history. -Cincinnati Art Museum -Coney Island Amusement Park--Smaller amusement park known for it's water park. -King’s Island Amusement Park--Open seasonally from Late Spring-Fall.

Newport is on the KY side of Cincinnati and has some fun things to do. "Newport on the Levee" is an indoor/outdoor mall including an aquarium where you can walk inside a tank of sharks is one of the main attractions. The Hofbrauhaus is a "replica" of the original Hofbrauhaus in Munich, Germany and can get pretty rowdy on Fridays and Saturdays, including locals singing and dancing on tables.
