If you're staying at Villa Pacifca for a while and want a taste of old Mexico, take a step back in time to San Sebastian. Located in the mountains about 1.5 hours from Punta Mita, this old mining town is the perfect place to get away from 21st century woes. With villagers riding burros to the old timey general stores you will feel like you're in another time. There are some truly incredible restaurants and coffee farms here.

You will need to rent a water taxi to cross the bay, the crossing takes about 1.5 hours so be sure to pack a cooler. Once you arrive you will have your pick of cool beachside restaurants. You will need to schedule your boat in advance and leave early to make the most of this day trip. Also, be sure to buy a pie from the pie lady!
