I am biased due to growing up with so much organic, natural ramen from childhood but Hawaiian Ramen was never very good. Until this place. This place has good ramen. For once. Finally Hawaii. Thank god. No really, Ramen in Hawaii is awful. This place is more than appropriate.

A popular beach very close to you (0.1 miles from unit). Do not worry if sometimes the ocean water is not clear some days (natural), just wait another day and it'll clear up, but this is just natural phases of the ocean. Lots of Boogie Boarders and Surfers enter from this beach.

A bit far of a walk but worthwhile (About 2 miles from unit) and decent chance of parking availability. After you walk down a paved slope on a cliffside (with handrail) you are met with a great little beach that is much more quiet than Waikiki. Take it all in.

Top-level Scenic points (near you)

Must-see incredible views
This one is not walkable to, must use car or Uber, but is one of the most beautiful lookout points that has breath-taking views. A must visit if you can. You can see almost the entire southern coast of the island from west to almost all the way east.

Don't worry if the entry gate is blocked off, you can zig-zag around them to reach this vista point. Come here during the day to see a breath-taking view (sometimes of Molokai Island also!), or at night to see the stars while in pure nature and darkness with a view. (At darker hours please drive to here or at least have a partner with you for safety as there ARE no street lights at all, you will need a flashlight and you may trip on something)

Local Farmers Markets (near you)

Great Farmers Markets
7:30 - 11:00 at Kapiolani Community College (KCC). The campus itself is gorgeous and the food is very unique to Hawaii. While Kaka'ako Farmers market is much much better, the location of this farmers market is EXCELLENT! The views around this area are wonderful and a shame to miss

Saturday 8-12. Excellent Farmers Market. (KCC Farmers Market, also held on Saturday, is in a much better "green" location, but this one has significantly better local venues) Also known as Kaka'ako Farmers Market.

Classic Hawaiian Shave Ice Location (nothing like mainland Snow Cones) with outdoor seating. If you don't want to go this far, or want more volume, Shimazu Shave ice is closer to your location with gigantic portions (I prefer Waiola, even though it is further away).

Home of the original Malasadas. Hot, warm doughy goodness that can be found in Hawaii, originally concocted by Portuguese immigrants (but from Island of Cabo Verde, so you won't find Malasadas in Brazil or Portugal unless you look really hard). It's quite delicious, despite being so simple.

This is too far to walk at 5 miles away, but if you have a car, tucked away in this small valley shopping center is Uncle Clay's organic natural fruit-using syrup to top your ice cream and shave ice. Quite a special treat if you want to get away from the more traditional Hawaiian shave ice and try something different.

Relaxing, Local Walks (near you)

A serious selection of seriously relaxing, pleasant nature-filled walks (Look at "Hiking" Section for more nature trails, etc)
This pathway right by KCC wraps around the northern side (mauka, or mountain side) of Diamond Head and is extremely pleasant to walk around, if you love taking aimless wanderings (Holoholo, as they are called in Hawaiian)

Worth the visit if not for the "zoo" but the environment itself. On 42-acres of beautiful land. Very spacious. This place could have been a garden and that alone is worth admission. Lots of beautiful and well-taken care of creatures here in this very spacious open-air zoo

There is NO parking at this Beach Park, meaning you being so close to this beach to walk or bicycle to, is a treat drivers of cars will never experience. Swimming here is just okay (not much of a beach), but the sunset views or having a evening meal here awards you with a beautiful scenic sunset.
