Located in Port Orford, really good fish and chips. I’m sure other things are good also, but the author just really likes their fish and chips so never tries the other things. Though can confirm the milkshakes are good.

Located in Langlois. Known for their hot dog, also have good sandwiches. In addition, they usually have 3 rotating beers on tap for half and full growler fills. As of last visit, half growler fill is $3 and full growler fill $5!

Local Fish Store
Located in Gold Beach. Not a restaurant, but really good fresh seafood. Also good selection of flash frozen fish that travels well. Very nicely done lox as well.

Hiking / Trail Running
Approximately 35 minutes north of the rental, off of Airport Road across from Pacific High School. Multiple loops and variants are possible, the shortest just going out to the point and back being a little under 4 miles, while the longest single lollipop loop is about 9 miles or so. Very flat, and great ocean views. Does tend to be windy on the point and trail turns into something resembling a swamp in the wet winter months. Have tall boots or be prepared for wet feet if going in winter.

Blacklock Point
Approximately 35 minutes north of the rental, off of Airport Road across from Pacific High School. Multiple loops and variants are possible, the shortest just going out to the point and back being a little under 4 miles, while the longest single lollipop loop is about 9 miles or so. Approximately 11 miles north of the rental, this trail is about a 5.5 mile lollipop loop. Fairly steep, especially the first mile and you will feel a little sense of accomplishment on making it to the top. Good ocean view at the top.
For running this trail, the author has a preference for going up the west side loop and then coming down the east side loop. The west side is slightly steeper and the footing a little more technical, so it is easier to run down the east side and also have to worry less about rolling an ankle going down the east side. But this is just one person’s preference, your mileage might vary.

Parc d'État de Humbug Mountain
Approximately 11 miles north of the rental, this trail is about a 5.5 mile lollipop loop. Fairly steep, especially the first mile and you will feel a little sense of accomplishment on making it to the top. Good ocean view at the top.
For running this trail, the author has a preference for going up the west side loop and then coming down the east side loop. The west side is slightly steeper and the footing a little more technical, so it is easier to run down the east side and also have to worry less about rolling an ankle going down the east side. The author has less personal experience on these trails, but the Rogue River Trail starts on the lower end just above Foster Bar (little over hour drive from rental). Going downriver from Agness, the lower Rogue river trail can be accessed from the Agness Library parking lot, as well as off a Forest Service road a few miles from the Lobster Creek Bridge. Contact the Forest Service for more details on road and trail conditions. The Forest Service has an office in Gold Beach.
