From 1961 on, most of the area became part of the No Man's Land of the Berlin Wall - Reminders of the wall you can still see today! After the fall of the Berlin Wall as part of a redevelopment effort for the area, the center was constructed.

Nowadays you can have a picture with actors dressed as allied military policemen standing in front of the guard house.
Careful this is a very touristic area!

Well this is difficult to explain, there has been a lawsuit about who invented the Currywurst. Two places in Berlin claim to be the first and of course to have the best Currywurst in town. We don’t really care which one was the first, but both are really yummy. Check out at least one them, either Konnopkes (http://www.yelp.com/biz/konnopkes-imbiss-berlin) or Curry36 (http://www.yelp.com/biz/curry-36-berlin). Advantage if you go to Curry36 and one of you don’t want a Currywurst, Mustafas Gemüsedöner (http://www.yelp.com/biz/mustafas-gemüsedöner-berlin) is just a step away - you’ll see the line for sure -> See Mustafas Gemüse Döner
