City/town information

Rumney is a small rural community that sits just west of Plymouth, NH. It is mountainous with hiking and snowmobiling trails but also offers the famous Polar Caves on rt. 25 along with several restaurants including The Last Chair and 1776 Brewing Company. Tenney Mountain Ski area has also just reopened for winter skiing.

It sits right off exit 25 and 26 on rt 93 and is only 20 minutes from our property. There is a quaint downtown then rt 25 has all your must haves like Walmart, grocery stores, fast food, a state liquor store and more. Not far to go from our property to get supplies of all kinds.

Sightseeing

The park is a great attraction in the area and only 7 miles from the cottage. A 'must see' in the area. It is seasonal and opens in May so be sure to check out Polarcaves.com for more info before visiting.

Less than 6 miles south of the cottage this is a great state park to explore with cool rock formations sculpted from the last ice age and swimming. Pets are permitted in the park.

Less than 12 miles from our cottage (depending on what part of the lake you visit), Newfound Lake is the perfect place to be if you enjoy NH lakes! Food and lakefront areas are available. Very scenic!

Stinson Mountain Trail is a 3.4 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Rumney, New Hampshire that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

The Cockermouth Forest is a favorite for many hikers in the region, as it offers modest to strenuous hikes, incredible views and numerous opportunities for observing wildlife year-round. Visitors can choose to explore Little Pond and the views from the nearby cliffs or trek up to Mount Crosby and Bald Knob with views of the White Mountains, Squam Lake, Lake Winnipesaukee and Newfound Lake.
