High Road to TaosThis is the High Road, but also the long way to Taos. Give yourself 2 to 3 hours, if you like to stop and take pictures. Historic and old El Santuario de Chimayo Church with healing dirt, is at begining of the journey north. Perhaps plan to eat at Rancho De Chimayo Restaurante ... first!!
This place is a gas, and at the very begining of the High Road to Taos trip, in northern Santa Fe. The owner started as a hands on costume designer and sewer. She was responsible for all the work for many famous movies. There is a little museum and store. I had great fun in museum, recognized most all of the movies and costumes!! Her daughter is a jewelry designer and makes lovely, southwestern influenced items. I sew and craft and I was very impressed.
