Great place for both lunch and dinner. Located in the middle of Brosundet and boasts nice views over the canal. Their pizza is made from an authentic stone oven and is a must try if you’re a pizza lover.

Their juicy burgers are served with home made bread and handcut fries. Perfect for that guilty pleasure take away. Due to the popularity they often run out of food, and with limited opening hours we advice to order early.

Evergreens arrived at Aalesund’s growing foodtruck scene in 2018. It became an instant success which led to the opening of their additional bistro. Their tex mex menu is based on fresh local ingredients made after traditional recipes. Along with an array of homemade salsas you can’t og wrong with this one.

Along the path to the top there are various viewpoints and at the top you will be rewarded with with a breathtaking view of the city surrounded by sea and local islands.

Thanks to it’s carefully preserved historic city center a stroll along it’s cobbled streets is a feast for the eyes. A large part of the city center was rebuild after a devastating fire in 1904. The architects that designed the houses were young norwegians influenced by both national romantic ideas as well as that time period's popular architectural style; Art Nouveau. The buildings are decorated with towers, turrets and imaginative and colourful ornaments.

Svai Sauna is a floating sauna in the the harbour. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the middle of the city and chill in the sauna afterwards. You can even play your own music on their sound system. With it's amazing view towards the harbour and neighbouring island it is great place to spend some hours.

Sunset watching
One of my favourite activities. Luckily Aalesund is packed with great places to catch the last rays of light!
A spot that has becomed increasingly popular with locals lately. Molja is an old lighthouse sitting on the very tip of a molo. It was first raised in 1858 to ensure safe passage of the fishing vessels at night. Today it has a complete different purpose as a hotel suite! Along the molo you will have panoramic views toward the nearby islands. Insider tip: Grab some take away while gazing towards the pink sky.

The hike normally takes 30 min and we recommend to reach the top a bit before sunset. Don’t forget your sunglasses as you will face plenty of sun along the path.

The hike normally takes 30 min and we recommend to reach the top a bit before sunset. Don’t forget your sunglasses as you will face plenty of sun along the path.
Since the view is to the west this is a great place to watch the sunset. It is best enjoyed from the top deck or at the little hillside located right behind the Fjellstua building. On nice summer evenings the place is bustling with people and you can feel that summer vibe.
