Its objective is to restore, preserve and promote the works that are part of Cuba's plastic heritage and is equipped with 24 rooms where old art collections are exhibited, art rooms dedicated to teachers of all times and rooms with temporary exhibitions. Drinks & Nightlife

Painting, fashion, sculpture, architecture, cinema, design and, obviously, music. All of them are concentrated in the same immense space that cultural capitals of the stature of Berlin or New York would long to have. We are talking about the Cuban Art Factory, located in Havana, a gigantic industrial building converted on the initiative of the composer X-Alfonso and the Cuban Ministry of Culture in 2014, which is entirely dedicated to promoting the artistic launching point of the island. Inside, all disciplines coexist and the exchange between them is favored as well as the approach of the public to the creator, breaking all existing barriers.

Food Scene

In the heart of Havana, in the Callejón del Chorro, very close to La Catedral, the "paladar" Doña Eutimia mixes the modern and familiar. The name of the restaurant is a tribute to Eutimia, a lady who lived on the other side of the square and who cooked the artists of the Graphic Experimental Workshop such as Fabelo, Choco, Nelson Domínguez and others. Those great women of the Cuban plastic arts remember her with a lot of love, because of the richness of her cooking and the affection with which she always treated them. That's the guide: make a Cuban meal, homemade, simple and full of love.

El Chanchullero has got to win the most surprisingly good place in Havana award. This looks like a hole in the wall place in a downright run down looking part of Old Havana. It is a hassle to get to by car and a little off the beautified Havana tourist track. It takes a while going in to realise what a find it is. A small bar and four wooden tables give little away. Settling in for a drink swiftly delivered by the attentive staff, the first clue is the music, loud, happy, European, modern without being pretentious or techno it sets the tone. The walls are covered with graffiti and photos, again the lack of pretension belie how well it has been thought through.

Castle of the Three Kings of the Morro. Designed in the last decades of the sixteenth century by the engineer Bautista Antonelli, with a view to the protection of the Villa de San Cristóbal de La Habana. Together with the lighthouse that accompanies it, it is a symbol of that city and of Cuba.
