Lovely picturesque part of Edinburgh by the water of Leith, walk along here and into Stockbridge. A lovely area with shops, nice cafes and Inverleith park has beautiful views into the city. Go to the Pantry or Cowan & Sons for breakfast/lunch and The Pastry Section (amazing cakes and pastries). There are lots of places for coffee shops and great charity shops too.

Pretty, not far from the city and right on my doorstep.
It is a lovely walk and quiet compared with the Old Town. I recommend Harrison Park and Tea and Sympathy and back towards Fountainbridge. Or for those adventurous hire a bike and cycle along to Ratho Inn and back.

Download the app 'bus & Tram' or use maps for transport links and advice. Buses are frequent from my area. Black cabs and uber are safe to use. Tap onto the buses but not when you get off. There is a weekly ticket you can get or a daily cap.

Cold & Windy
Edinburgh, like all of Scotland, can have 4 seasons in one day. It is also known as the 'windy city' so if you are out all day i recommend brining layers with you.
