Tulum Ruins is one of the main attractions. It's the only ruins built close to the sea and has very strong energy you can feel the minute you walk in. It's only about a 1 hour visit and guides are recommended! Don't forget your swim suit since there is a way down to the beach where to linger for a bit and cool off from the sun. Take mosquito repellent too! It opens at 8 AM until 5PM. Fee $65 MX - $150 MX depending on the time of year.

Escape to a secret underworld of turquoise pools where Mayans communicated with the gods. Cenotes are natural swimming holes formed by the collapse of porous limestone bedrock, which has revealed a secret subterranean world of groundwater pools. Most cave cenotes have fresh water so clear and pure that you can see straight through to small fish frolicking in the plant life below. Cenote dos Ojos is one of the most popular ones and amongst the most amazing ones too. Go snorkel or get your divers certificate to discover this natural fresh water pools!

Parks & Nature

Sian Ka'an was declared a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO and it remains the largest protected area in the Mexican Caribbean. It is also a must if you come to Tulum. There are several tours that can take you there and include boat trip, snorkeling, lunch & drinks, floating through emerald water canals, see from turtles to dolphins and even crocodiles. The beach is amazingly beautiful, white sand and turquoise waters. You can also go by car and stop whenever you like.

Shopping

Dos Aguas Park (Two Waters Park) is right behind city town hall, in front of the only catholic church in town. Feel the local mexican life! There is always something going on: whether is ladies soccer games at the public court or friends spontaneously gathered to play basketball. You can easily find some food carts for tamales or corn treats and my favorite: Marquesitas that is basically ice cream cone pastry with nutella! There are several local restaurants as well. All Mexican style.
