Another way to get out of Anchorage is by local air services. Raven has destinations all of the state. While some can be fairly cheap ($49ow to Kenai) others can be quite expensive ($1,200 to Dutch Harbor), there is a good possibility your destination has a rental vehicle to explore even further.
