Informazioni sulla città/località

Nestling between Lake Garda and the Brenta Dolomites, Riva del Garda is the very epicentre of Garda Trentino: a charming little town that ascends the rugged cliffs and (with its panoramic lift) reaches up to the fortress of “Il Bastione”, whose grey stone walls proudly watch over the lively community below. And there is plenty to be found there – climbing and kitesurfing, art exhibitions and open-air concerts, cheese tastings and winery visits. Let your gaze roam over the glittering mirror of the lake, aperitivo in hand, and simply allow the esprit, style and vibrancy of this unique location to take effect. Welcome to Riva del Garda – life at its sweetest!

The German poet, Goethe who stayed in Torbole in 1786 chose these words to describe Torbole: "How I wished that my friends were here for a moment with me, in order to enjoy the view that lies before me! Just a few steps away from me ... there was this magnificent spectacle of nature, this lovely picture that is Lake Garda, and I did not want to miss it."

Malcesine is the cherry on top of your Lake Garda holiday. Take a pinch of outdoor activities, such as a stroll along the lake shore, add a touch of spice with a paraglider flight from Monte Baldo and enjoy with a glass of fine wine as the sun sets behind the castle.

The town of Arco is surrounded by a number of rocky mountains and thus known as a popular climbing area. In the centre of the town you will find numerous climbing halls. For 20 years now every September the so-called “Rock Master” has been organised, an international free climbing cup attracting climbers from all over the world. Arco is a great place also for mountain bikers and cyclists, as the surrounding area is ideally-suited to this kind of sports. Here, at the heart of the mountains, you can enjoy nature with all its pleasures.

The heart of the old town is the little harbour, the Porto Vecchio ('Old Port'). From here, narrow lanes lined with tourist shops wind along the shore and up the slopes behind. There are pleasant and picturesque waterfront terraces, and plenty of places to eat and drink while admiring lake views. Following paths to the north of the harbour you leave the hustle and bustle behind, and pass scattered hotels, peaceful cafe terraces, abandoned lemon groves and little swimming beaches. In the other direction is the more modern part of Limone: a wide waterfront promenade, car park and many more hotel developments. This end of the town sprawls over the area where the mountains are set back further from the lake: here olive groves are interspersed with hotels and swimming pools.

Celebrated by Shakespeare, who made it famous as the romantic setting for the moving tale of Romeo and Juliet, Verona is a splendid, ancient corner of the Veneto region, nestling between the river Adige and Lake Garda, and intimately linked to their waters. The Adige today flows between strong embankments, built after the 1882 flood to contain the devastating river water. Beautiful city with lots to do and see. Around 1h from Riva del Garda (highway).

Canale di Tenno is listed amongst the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy and features a cluster of houses connected by archways and courtyards as well as a flourishing cultural scene, especially thanks to the Artists' House - Casa degli Artisti - and the many artists who have chosen to make Canale their home for the summer.
