Neighborhoods

100 Placer Place is on the outskirts of a lovely neighborhood in Vallejo known as Glen Cove, which overlooks the bay. The area where our house is located is in a residential area that is closer to Highway 80, so it's closer to a commercial area. Placer Place is on a small residential street that is quiet and well kept by owner occupied homes. The entry into the neighborhood could use some revamping, however, but keep driving, and you will arrive at this little gem of a place. Vallejo is a former military town, and could certainly use some infrastructure improvement. The outside world just fades away once you are inside our home. It is a haven in the midst of a busy area, and you will enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the space. Open the patio doors and windows and enjoy the cool breeze in the mornings and evenings. In all the years we have owned this home, we have never had any security issues, but it is best to lock the doors and windows when you leave, to secure your belongings and the home. Please note: It is best not to park overnight on Jordan Street, the cross street to Placer Place, to keep your car secure. We have four parking spaces at the house, two in the garage and two in the driveway. You will enjoy coming back to the house after a day of sightseeing and wine tasting, to relax and replenish for the next day's activities. The best places to eat around here are in downtown Benicia, a small ocean town that is only a five minute drive away. The location is convenient and affordable for all the sightseeing you plan to do.

Here are some links for touring the Wineries in the Napa Valley area. Our home is 20-30 minute drive away from Napa, and that is the main reason people come and stay with us: 1. https://oldvinewinetours.com/the-best-wineries-in-napa-and-sonoma/ This wine tour company has a list of 83 wineries, with prices and details (see below for a list of recommendations). You may also choose to do your own tour - and consider having a designated driver for that. You could also just take a drive out to Napa, and drive around. It’s beautiful and easy, it’s not that large of an area. One day would be sufficient to enjoy much of Napa, and you can always pull in to wineries that look interesting and explore that way. Some wineries require a reservation, but some you can just drop in on. The list below should give you a good place to start - I would recommend you print it out, or have it handy on your phone to reference. 2. Some of our guests have taken the Napa Valley Wine Train and really enjoyed it: https://www.winetrain.com The Napa Valley Wine Train takes you on a 36-mile round-trip discovery to St. Helena and back, stopping at celebrated wineries along the way.
