An always-good restaurant on the Uptown edge of the Irish Channel. It's a relaxed and intimate spot with meals that will not disappoint. Great brunch even served on some weekdays, Thursday-Monday. As with all the good spots, they tend to get busy during busy times. Plan to be in a queue on the weekends, but worth the wait.

On a weekend night, the wait is ridiculous; so long that you end up extra tipsy by the time you make it to your table. However, drunk or not, when you get a table and eat the food, you will probably remember the meal for life. Great restaurant if you have the time to wait. The Maple Leaf Bar is right next door, they have live music nightly.

A local favorite Mexican eatery. They rarely disappoint with any of their dishes; reasonable prices and cool folks. When in season, their crawfish queso is like crack sauce (the regular queso is good too, and available year-round).
