If you want the truest Knoxville experience, then you've got to start with these charming and historic spots. Then you can move along, knowing that you've gotten the most out of your stay here.
The Sunsphere, located in World’s Fair Park in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, is a 266 ft (81 m) high hexagonal steel truss structure, topped with a 75 ft (23 m) gold-colored glass sphere that served as the symbol of the 1982 World's Fair. If you are looking for history, look no further. The magnificent Tennessee Theatre first opened its doors on October 1, 1928 and was hailed as “the South’s most beautiful theatre.” When the first patrons stepped inside downtown’s “movie palace” to see their favorite stars on the silver screen, they paid only 40 cents for matinees and 60 cents for evening shows (children paid only 10 and 15 cents). Visit their website and consider taking a tour of this magnificent venue.

McKay's is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience. People bring in their previously loved books, movies, video games, music, etc., and McKay's offers them cash or store credit in return. Everything you find on their shelves was brought to them by their customers. And because of that, you truly never know what you're going to find. Every visit to McKay's is a unique adventure.
