This was a home of a prominent business man Nikolai Sinebrychoff in 19th century. This became a museum at some point in the 20th century. Here you see how they lived but also a lot of awesome art, such as the only Rembrant painting in Finland.

About 50 kilometres from Helsinki you find this lovely small town called Porvoo. A pictoresque Old Town is worth visiting, small shops, restaurants, coffee shops as well as old wooden architecture and a medieval church create a unique atmosphere.

A unique church which was excavated inside the rock. This was a first church in Finland where soft cushions were installed on the benches. This created a lot of stir back in the day, it was almost a sin to sit comfortably in the church.

This is a small island where you can walk and swim but also visit old houses to see how Finland was a few centuries ago. Squirrels are overfed by tourists so avoid feeding them with peanuts.

This church is one of the main attractions of Helsinki. It is surrounded by buildings of neoclassical architecture. The church itself is not in its original form, it was ”redesigned” under Russian rule and not all changes have been removed. 7 apostles were not part of the original design nor the painted stars on the dome.

This is almost next to Yellow Tower and is a popular sushi restaurant. On weekends they have a sushi buffet at 17 euros per person (price is subject to change).. Never been myself because sushi is not my thing but I have heard good things from my guests.

Espresso House is a coffee shop chain and you find these in many places. One is within 50 metres of Yellow Tower. They offer salads, sandwiches and sweet pastry and the coffee menu is longish. Vegan options available too.

Very easy going pizza place in the building where Yellow Tower is. White pizzas and vegan options too. Been here myself, I like their pizzas. Some of my guests have really favoured this one.

Not sure what Lopez official style is. Perhaps a bit Mexican. Some like their tacos, I have heard good things about their tuna taco. This is not my favourite place to eat, sometimes I have popped in just to have a glass of wines. Personnel does not necessarily speak Finnish at all (or barely).

If you are interested in jewellery, I recommend visiting this place. They have awesome vintage jewellery, second hand watches and reasonably priced new production.
