Very beautiful nature reserv with old forests traditional forest pastures and a beautiful lake. A very peaceful place to visit with lots of different tracks.

Go to Gräfsnäs with an old steam train! perfect trip to do with children. In Gräfsnäs you can watch an old ruin and there are beautiful picnic areas. you can also visit a café, play in a big playground and take a bath in the lake. Highly recommend this to both grown ups and kids :)
In June they are open Tuesday-Thursday and Saturday-Sunday, in August only Saturday and Sunday. The train goes from 10:30-17:00, there is a time schedule on the internet but it's in Swedish so please ask me if you need any help translating!
prices: child (0-2 year ) free ticket, child (3 – 15 year)60 kr one way, 80 kr both ways. adult 120 krone way, 150 kr both ways. Small group (2 adults and 2 children)–380 kr both ways.

Beautiful old church built 12 th, located in an beautiful area. Close to the church is also and old farm that is now a museum where you can see how life was back in the days in this area. The area is called Svältorna wich is a word that indicate starvation. This was an area that was very poor during 18th and lots of people migrated to America. Ornunga new church is also nice to visit with beautiful nature around.

It can be both tricky to drive in the centre and parking can be expensive so I recommend train from Vårgårda (free parking at station) to Gothenburg. You can buy tickets to västtåg in the västtrafik app ToGo. If you take SJ train you buy tickets on there website before you go on the train.
You will arrive at the centralstation and palmhuset is located near the station.

really nice organic bakery and lunch restaurant. Great pastry and beautiful old house. Outside in the barn is a vintage shop with old furniture and other interior. in the weekends there are a farmers market outside in the garden.

Café and bakery in beautiful area. The bakery uses flour from the mill that is one of few small organic mills left in Sweden. it's nice to take a walk around the area before taking a coffee.
