Mt. Olympus and Ensign peak are great hikes with views of the city, and Lake Blanche and Red Pine lake are both beautiful hikes up the cottonwood Canyons.

Thanksgiving point also has many fun activities like museums, botanical gardens, a farm and Biosphere. It’s 45 minutes south of the AirBNB.

Temple square is a famous landmark of the state and SLC. They are doing some repairs currently, but it is still fun to walk around temple square and enjoy the landscaping. There are also tours and museums available. You can easily walk from here to City Creek mall for shopping and food.

The Bonneville salt flats are a great place to take pictures of a vast expanse, drive fast, and explore. They are a little less than two hours drive from Salt Lake City. It's near Wendover, on the Utah-Nevada border. There is no speed limit on the salt flats so you can drive as fast as you'd like. Many land speed records have been broken here. Check the weather because there can be water on the flats if there is a lot of rain.

Depending on the water level the lake can be about a .5 mile walk from the parking lot. If you don't want to pay to enter the park, you can park at The Great Saltair for free and walk to the shoreline.
This is a fun mall to walk around. City Creek is another nearby mall and is better for winter weather since it is indoor. The gateway is outdoors and great during warmer months.

City Creek Mall is a very fun mall to walk around. Lots of stores and restaurants. The mall has a creek running through it and the roof is retractable for all weather. The mall is enclosed and great even during winter weather

The Midway ice castles are a seasonal attraction and definitely worth the stop if you are in the Park City area. Thousands of ice sickles are made into a Frozen like wonderland

Takashi is the sushi place everyone in SLC talks about. Highly recommended. Be warned: they do not take reservations and they are VERY popular. Go early and do not be intimidated by the line. The wait goes fast and the sushi is worth it!
