They have meat by the pound for Mexican street tacos which is a great way to feed several people! The pastor and barbacoa are our favorite. They also have great margaritas to go!

Food scene
Aaron Franklin’s internationally renowned and (arguably) the best BBQ in town...definitely worth the experience to brag to all of your friends! You will wait in line.. 2-3 hours during the week; up to 6+ hours on the weekend. Umbrellas and coolers of beer are encouraged while you wait! Get there early! While the restaurant doesn’t open until mid-morning the facilities (restrooms) are available bright and early to cater to the BBQ pilgrims.

Our favorite Chinese food in town and it happens to be ~10 minutes from here. The food travels well for pick-up/delivery or dine-in. Get the Brisket Fried Rice and Mala Fried Chicken.

Not interested in burning half a day waiting at Franklin BBQ? Then try one of our favorite BBQ spots in town. Get there early and still plan to wait in line (it is Austin, TX after all!), but not nearly as busy as Franklin BBQ.

Our favorite local craft butcher shop. If you’re looking for an amazing steak to throw on the grill.. this is your place! Too lazy to grill? They are also a wood-fire restaurant showcasing many of the meats available at the counter.

Authentic French food and the best (only?) escargot in town. Be prepared for a truly authentic European dining experience - they are not very fast here. But you’ll want to stay late anyway as the restaurant slowly morphs into a seedy bar scene as your dinner progresses. Get the escargot then the duck or the pork chop!

Somehow the Detroit pizza revolution began in a pizza food truck in Austin, TX a few years ago. Now with many brick and mortar locations + food trucks. This thick, rectangular, cheese to the edge, sauce on the top, Detroit-style pizza will blow you away! We have friends that visit just for this pizza.
