The Pink Caves have become a bit of a social media phenomenon. It’s easy to see why they became known as the ‘cotton candy caves’, with pictures of deep pink rock and aqua coloured water. There’s been a lot of talk online as to whether the colour is real or photoshopped, and it’s definitely real! They are a gorgeous spot to visit and a great introduction to sea caves in the area. Visiting any sea cave is potentially dangerous though and you do need the right conditions to visit. Check out this post on how to visit the caves safely, as well as both the long and short route to get to them. https://www.walkmyworld.com/posts/central-coast-pink-caves

Lake Macquarie Variety Playground at Speers Point Park is the biggest playground in the area. It's a local favourite because there's plenty to do for children of all ages - and many love the 12m climbing tower and slide! It's a bit of a trip - 45 mins one way - but worth it as the kids play nonstop for hours and a beautiful spot for a picnic rug underneath a large tree canopy. There's also a little cafe right next to the park that's great for ice creams and coffees or a quick bite https://sals-by-the-lake.business.site/ We highly recommend taking sunscreen and insect repellent in the warmer months, as some play areas are exposed and the mozzies can be out
