A nice coffee shop with excellent food for lunch. You can stop and have a cup of coffee and then walk around North Wilkesboro and check out the stores. Many antique stores close by. Talia's had gluten free selections.

We went recently and hunted in the creek and did sluicing with the bucket of rock that we purchased. Both were great fun! This is 30 minutes away.

You can rent kayaks and bikes from Cooks. They will take you to a location and then pick you up.

You can rent bikes, kayaks, canoes, pontoon boats, etc. This is about 15 minutes from my house.
