Cars, Charter Boats and Restaurant Reservations

The island has been extremely busy with tourism so be sure to make your car reservation well in advance. Remember, we drive on the left side of the road! The only restaurant you will need a reservation in Coral Bay is Rhumb Lines. Plan ahead and make dinner reservations for most restaurants in town.
Que faut-il apporter ?

Casual clothing is accepted everywhere, BUT.....

Wear cover-ups over bathing suits when not on the beach. Use ONLY reef-safe sunscreens that do not contain any ingredients that begin with the letter "o". These ingredients kill our precious coral reefs and they are outlawed in the VI! Wear a rash guard shirt and hat to lessen the amount of sunscreen needed. Apply sunscreen 20 minutes before going into the water Bring good treaded shoes or sneakers and water bottles for hiking trails (hike in the morning to beat the heat) lBring a light weight long-sleeve shirt or a wrap for breezy evenings on the house deck

Travel Info

You’ll need cash for the taxis to the ferries. One passenger ferry runs from Red Hook, St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, St. John ($8.15?/pp and $4/bag) every hour on the hour and accepts credit cards. The other ferry is from Crown Bay, St. Thomas to Cruz Bay, St. John. The schedules are listed: https://www.vinow.com/travel/virgin-islands-ferry-schedules/stjohn/ Avoid early morning return flights, as the earliest ferry leaves St. John at 6am and you will need to go through Customs in St. Thomas. Bring your passport as it’s easier and quicker.

Donkeys and other Island Wildlife

DO NOT feed or touch donkeys, turtles or other wildlife. Feeding donkeys often leads to illness and trains them to be in the road where they can be hit by cars.
